Tree House, Ealing

Wave Curtains on Recessed Tracks to Contemporary New Build House

This new build two bedroom house has been constructed on former back land, bounded by rear gardens, in Waldeck Road, Ealing.  The imaginative design by Fletcher Crane Architects is sympathetic to the street scenography and the finished home is a clever light-filled compact dwelling, with simple raw finishes such as bespoke ash joinery, terrazzo tiling and metal balustrades.

Living spaces flow from the front to the rear of the site, with the kitchen and living room on the upper most storey, making the most of natural daylight.  The two bedrooms and associated bathrooms are located on the semi sunken floors which lead out to a secluded planted garden.

There is an increasing trend for concealment of tracks and blinds in modern homes, and this project was no exception.  Waverley supplied and installed recessed Silent Gliss 6840 hand-drawn curtain tracks together with DrapeTech Wave Curtains in Silent Gliss Colorama 1 FR fabric, in White to the sitting room area and in Grey to a lower bedroom.  By choosing to have the curtains unlined, they diffuse rather than cut out light.

We also supplied and installed Silent Gliss System 4930 Roller Blinds to the bedroom areas (not pictured), recessed in blind boxes and so hidden from view when not in use.  These were also in Colorama 1 fabric.

This was a lovely project which we were delighted to be involved with, and the recessed curtains and blinds work very well with the minimal character of the interior design.
