Africa House

Shading Solutions for a grade II listed building, Africa House

The brief for this Grade II listed building required the solar shading and lighting to be managed automatically for enhanced energy efficiency, and the provision of curtains in meeting areas to create an aesthetically pleasing and high quality working environment.

Lutron® blinds were identified as meeting all the criteria required to provide an exceptional user experience, integrating seamlessly with the Lutron® lighting system.

High performance fabrics were selected to create an exceptional visual impact and to meet the practical needs of each area. The blinds were concealed in a bulkhead which brought challenges for the installation teams

Silent Gliss® 3840 curtain tracks and Wave® voile curtains in a Kvadrat® fabric were selected to complement the blinds for visual impact and practicality.

Waverley worked closely with architect TP Bennett to provide a stunning unique ‘lighting and fabric’ feature for the ground floor reception and café areas. Waverley collaborated with the fit out contractor and the architect to achieve the desired result – a bespoke array of folded fabric panels with light boxes behind, and pendant lighting beneath.
