Electric roller blinds for office boardrooms

Waverley were contracted by commercial fit-out specialist Peldon Rose to manufacture and install motorised roller blinds as part of their fit-out project for law firm Duane Morris LLP at their offices in Ropemaker Street, London.

The internal meeting rooms featured floor to ceiling glazing on one side to maximise the ‘grand-stand’ view of the London’s iconic skyline from the 16th floor. The challenge presented by Peldon Rose was the client’s need for a high level of light exclusion in meeting rooms to enable use of audio visual equipment but also their desire to preserve the view of the landscape as much as possible. The blinds needed to be easy to operate to enable Duane Morris staff to give their high-profile clients a slick and professional experience whilst at their UK head office.

Waverley manufactured and installed ShadeTech® RBL-E motorised roller blinds with Betascreen® 100 fabric with a 1% openness in colour Birch. Although an openness factor of just 1% was used in order to maximise the level of room darkening, the colour choice of grey still maintains an outside view. This is due to the fact that the human eye focuses on light rather than dark so when inside the room, occupants look ‘through’ the fabric to the view beyond.

The roller tube and brackets are concealed within a white powder-coated cassette to maintain a neat appearance. The blinds in each meeting room are operated simultaneously via a wall mounted remote control switch.

Waverley installed all electrical wiring providing Peldon Rose with a complete package, and thereby reducing their workload and ensuring a snag free, solar shading solution for their client.
